Gashe Getatchew was certainly an icon, International scholar, humanitarian, historian, linguist, and absolutely an awesome human being. He will be missed immensely! Ethiopia and the world lost a special person. I will always cherish his advice and wisdom he shared with my wife and I at our wedding ceremony and for always being a great teacher and advisor. He was the most humble man I have ever known. May God bless his soul and give much strength to family and friends. Let us all cherish the wonderful memories and his great contribution to humanity.
